I can only recommend spending a day at the Louvre. There is so much going on inside. So many exhibitions that does please the interest of everyone. Even one day is way to little time to spend at this amazing place, it is enough if you take a look upfront at the exhibitions & make your plan.
Since it is a really huge building you have to be prepared before you visit, otherwise you will get lost easily.
It is even worth taking a closer look at the Mona Lisa. The guards have figured out a great system to take a look at the world famous painting from as close as you can get. It will take you some Minutes and maybe nerves to get there but it’s definitely worth a try.
It is allowed to take pictures inside the museum almost everywhere without flash and there are a lot of cafes inside so you don’t need to carry your stuff with you all the time. The locker system is super & you can even lock away your umbrella if you need to carry one :)
I also recommend the audio guide. It is available in a lot of languages like french, Italien, Spanish, Russian, englisch, etc.
I also recommend buying the tickets upfront online. You can save them in the TIQETS app that is available for apple & android. This will allow you to skip the queue and just walk insinde and take the precious time to discover the Louvre

Word can't express this amazing place. This museum is not just about painting, statues. The building is amazing, the decoration of the walls is amazing. If you want to make your visit to the museum efficient, you must take the audio guide. It's not just about explaining the exhibitions. It is also useful to navigate in the enormous building. Don't forget to buy the ticket up front.
